sate padang mi amor
I was introduced to this food when I was a kid. I hate spicy food because I never eat spicy food.
Sate Padang is actually a dish from West Sumatra, I did not know a lot about this since I am not from there. However, I did some research on this recently.
honestly speaking, I used to hate Sate Padang. simply because it is spicy. as I get older, I can eat certain spicy food including Sate Padang. ok.
I used to live semi-nomadically lol, due to my parents' work, so moving is my thing. when I lived in my grandparents' house in Jakarta, there this one person who also lived there as a renter. she rented a room in my grandparents' house as her campus is near to the house and she came from different land (re: West Sumatra). Her name is mba Fani (hi mba fani!) i used to spell her name as funny instead of fani hahaha. She sometimes acts like my big sister, and always telling me about things, including food. She loooooves spicy food. Since then, she introduces me to some "alien" food to me such as ikan tongkol pedas, rendang, and Sate Padang. guess what? I hate it. it's spicy bye.
After a long time, I finally graduated from high school and moved to another city (alone hoo). I started to live semi-independently. due to circumstances, I was forced not to be picky about food. cause, no one who is going to make something for me, I make food for myself. since I used to be an indolent person (esp when it comes to; cooking) I just eat whatever exists. so that time changed me, I tried to eat certain spicy food. and...... yes, sate Padang.
Living alone was simple yet lonely back then. in order to avoid those feelings, I tried to be friendly with food (besides my friends). when it comes to my lonesome-time, I order some food through my Go-Jek or Grab applications. Mcd, KFC, Pizzahut, Burger, you name it. I got bored. I said I was indolent, I do not have any energy to go out, looking for street food, traditional food, because back then the street food/ traditional food seller not yet joining the apps, so I cant buy theirs. in other words, I have to buy by myself, which omg I am so idle.
Eventually, i have energies. There are a lot of food stalls, from Rumah makan padang, Warung Bakso, Ayam Goreng, Ayam Bakar, Sop Buntut (oxtail soup), Sate Ayam, Sate Kambing, and etc.
I chose Rumah Makan Padang, simply because it is the NEAAAAREST.
so I ordered rendang and paru goreng (a must) and their kinds of bumbu kuah (slurp)
the end.
no, it is not.
in a week, I can buy 3 portions of Nasi Padang, 3 portions of Ayam oreng and 3 portions of sate ayam. the rest i chose arbitrarily, it can be mcd, it can be only pizza, or i just simply make indomie.
BUT..... the sudden longing of this kind of food is appear... Sate Padang. yes. it is been a while, since I moved. so I looked for several sate padang stall in Malang, there are 3 (which I know).
i went to the first place, hmm is nice but so-so. ok, lah.
i went the second place, still nice, better because they provided kerupuk/krupuk kulit.
and for the third, I'm a bit skeptical. and surprisingly, the 3rd place is the place where i used to buy nasi padang near my dorm. I'm a bit skeptical because it just does not look like the trusted... and no one recommends me... so i had a doubt, but for their nasi padang it is really good and cheap (eehey).
but my curious ass still curious, so i persuade my friend, to also buy the sate padang 3rd place (hahaha).
and i bought it.
the taste?....
BETTER THAN THE TWOOO previous stall. ok, but they're all ok.
the 3rd is the most delicious. for me.
and i bought it again, on the next day. and the day after the next day. and the day after the next next next day. I secretly became a repeat customer or maybe a loyal customer. i also advocate people to buy the sate padang because it is not only delicious but magical. it is also becoming my saviour, cause Sate Padang helps me to alleviate my stress!
i always bought Sate Padang as take-away, since the place is not that comfy and big. and since the food stall is near to my dorm, why not? unless I have a companion to eat. Cause, back then i was afraid and have no courage to eat alone publicly. (NORMALISE EATING ALONE IN PUBLIC!)
so, I always take-away this Sate Padang.
I can buy this 3 times a week, or whenever I want. and it is a must for a weekend treat.
since then, I fell in love with Sate Padang.
I even changed my twitter acc to @cintasatepadang (hiiiii).
anyway busway, I also love other kinds of sate/satay; sate ayam, sate kambing, and sate sapi!
#janganlupamakansatepadang ❤️
love you💗💗💗
