i used to hate cooking

cooking might be the usual activity for some people especially ibu, nenek or chef. but, for me well... it needs a lot of struggles, niat, du'a, and TUTORIALS.

since i lived alone, i was forced to cook by situation cause if i buy foods every day, my wallet and bank account are going to scream. you shall know that food expenses are the first biggest expenses for nomads like me (NOMADS?? REALLY ALMI?! lol) followed by laundry expenses and skincare expenses. since then, i decided to cook, yes cook. started with masak air, then eggs, the not-so-tasty soto, soup, chicken broth, ayam gorrrreng, ayam kecap, tempe, tahu, calamari, nasi goreng, carbonara, ayam pop, beef and etc. a lot yes but if you asked about the taste, wow do not even try, i'm still learning tho.

what i hate is actually not about the cooking, how i cook, the way i cook, what i cook, but the aftermath. ya the dishes, dirty dishes, errggggh. thats why i hate cooking. ehm also when the results are not exactly what i expected, burnt or too salty or too tasteless.

however, now i looked up at the stars contemplating about how the future can be if i can't cook, my life going to be hard maybe. seeing people eat what i cooked, kinda give me some satisfaction and happiness and i really appreciate their honest review through their expressions especially from my mama and nenek.

a few days ago, i also try baking and make noodles. i made less-sugar brownies (since i am not allowed to eat lots of sugar), it was tricky and complex. for the taste? ok laah not so bad but not too good. for noodles, i made the healthy not-so-green noodles, using pakcoy or Bok Choi or mustard greens (is it rite?) as the coloring. IT WAS SUPER HARD. because i need to grind the dough and it was so heavy until my arms so muscular. my mom said the mie/noodles is super tasty, my nenek pun said it's soo tasty, and my sister also said it's tasty. urgh love 'em.

after i cooked and baked, i decided that myself is not a baker. i am a chef lol. because, idk it feels more relieved to cook than bake. both need concentration, the calculation to get the perfect taste and result. but when it comes to baking, you need it more! you cannot taste the cake before it's done. in cooking, you can still add more salt or other herbs. in baking, once it fails, the result is failed. in cooking, you can still 'revise' it.

i am going to learn more on cooking, looking forward to learn some traditional recipes, indonesian or South East Asian recipes, european especially spanish and german recipes!
